For the past 7 years, Sandra Campbell has served as soprano soloist in the FPCK Chancel Choir, as well as Director of the Children’s Choir. Sandra began her singing career with Houston Grand Opera in 1991, and has been seen in over 60 Houston Grand Opera mainstage productions as a chorister and principle artist, including Carmen, as Frasquita, The Coronation of Poppea as Valetto, and as Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro. Sandra served as Executive Director of Houston Grand Opera’s Opera to Go! and toured in nine productions with the company, including Hansel and Gretel as Gretel, and The Magic Flute as Pamina. Additional opera credits include Adina in The Elixir of Love with Beaumont Civic Opera, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte. Sandra’s musical theatre credits include Anne in A Little Night Music, Luisa in The Fantastiks, Laurie in Oklahoma, and Rosamund in The Robber Bridegroom. Sandra has also appeared as a soloist in Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, the Vivaldi Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Saint-Saens’ Noel, Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass, Gabriel in The Creation with the Houston Choral Society, and most recently in Dr. John Cornelius’ Fulfilled!. She currently performs with Houston Grand Opera’s Storybook Opera, an educational program which she created, celebrating its 14th season. In 2012, Sandra was invited to The Park Avenue Armory in New York City to perform her composition, Itamar Meets a Rabbit to NYC area students. Sandra is currently singing with EVOK, a 14 member a cappella choir out of Kingwood Lone Star College. Sandra’s training included 6 years in the vocal studio of W. Stephen Smith, preceding his professorships at Julliard School of Music and Northwestern University She now resides in Kingwood, TX with husband, Coy, 18 year old daughter, Liv, and Penny, their Australian shepherd, age 56 in dog years. Sandra’s vocal studio consists of 30 area high school and middle school students.
