Here are a few things to know when attending FPC-Kingwood for the first time.
What do I need to know before my first visit?
We have Sunday services at 8:15, 9:35 & 11:05am. Our 8:15 & 11:05am services are traditionally based with a choir, organ and songs sung from the hymnal. Our 9:35am service is lead by a band. Both styles of service have liturgical elements that are familiar to Presbyterians.
What does FPC-Kingwood believe?
First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood is an ECO Affiliated Presbyterian Church.
Do I need to become a member of FPC-Kingwood to participate in worship and other activities?
You do not need to be a member to worship at FPC-Kingwood. We also offer an “open table” for Communion in which all who believe in Christ are welcome to partake. We do encourage you to consider becoming a member and perhaps living a deeper life of faith and discipleship in this community of faith.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Yes. We have a lift under the porte cochere drive and have designated handicap parking with easy access to the church building. An elevator in the Christian Education (CE) Wing provides access to all second level classrooms.
Where will my children be?
We offer “Kid’s Church” during the 9:35 service. For more information about children’s offerings, you can go to the Children’s Ministry page here.
Students 5th Grade through High School are welcomed in our Student Ministry programs. For more information about that, please visit our Student Ministry page.
Am I required to give money at worship?
There is no monetary requirement to worship at FPC-Kingwood. However, most people find that as they move into a deeper relationship with God and become more involved in ministry and community, giving becomes a very natural step in their Christian lives.
What else happens on Sunday?
We offer a Discipleship Hour at 10am with classes for all ages and interests. Additionally, we offer a Fellowship Breakfast on the 3rd Sunday of the month and spotlight a different Mission Partner during the last Sunday of the month. We have activities throughout the year to educate and celebrate on different areas of Ministry. Tables in Fellowship Hall often provide a wealth of information about new ways to get involved.
Can I meet with a pastor?
Of course! All the clergy are listed on the website with their contact information. Additionally, you may a check the box on the blue Connect Card you receive in the services that indicates you’d like to visit with a pastor. All the clergy at FPC-Kingwood feel privileged to meet with you.
