Like any family, the family of First Presbyterian Church-Kingwood is made up of different individuals. We come from many walks of life, varied experiences, distinct backgrounds, but all of us in different ways have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. Through God’s perfect design, we’ve been woven together united in a common faith, a common purpose and a common hope.

The words of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 are foundational for us:

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The FPC-Kingwood logo symbolizes these words and our four-part purpose and mission:

  • PRESENCE – The real presence of the risen Lord Jesus Christ, who has called each of us to faith and continues to call all of us together as a church.
  • PASSION – The presence of Jesus -God with us- produces in each of us not simply the worship of our lips but passionate worship from the depths of our hearts.
  • POWER – The power of Jesus is something we experience as we give Him complete authority in our lives and dedicate ourselves to discipleship.
  • PURPOSE – The purpose of Jesus for our lives is not only that we become disciples but that we make disciples by being disciples and involve ourselves in God’s mission in our world.

God’s grace has threaded itself into each of our lives. And we believe those threads are being woven together by the Holy Spirit to create a unique church. We have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. At this time, in this place, in this community and around the world, we have been called to make a difference, together.

A family of faith. A home for you.
